Botox, Nannies, and the Upper West Side

This past Tuesday I had the opportunity to help out at an event held at one of our client’s venues on the Upper West Side. Tori Spelling is currently on a press junket promoting her new book, and these women who call themselves “The Moms” invited her to discuss it with prominent mommy bloggers around the city in addition to editors from People, Us Weekly and the like. Our client agreed to provide the space for the interview because it’s an arts and crafts slash café and bakery where moms can bring their children to paint ceramics and eat cupcakes. (See the connection?)

The City Is My Boyfriend

It’s been exactly one month and two days since I moved to the big apple. I can’t believe it! It’s mine and the city’s one-month anniversary–and just in time for Valentine’s Day. I’ve been joking around with my girlfriends here that I was going to be anti-Valentine’s Day and wear black instead of red or pink to showcase my disdain. But  last night as I was gazing into my closet looking for something black, I heard the rumble of the train and took a look at the New York skyline (something I do a lot when I’m at home) and realized that joking or not, I should celebrate all the love that’s in my life, including the love I have for this city.

Experiences

Godiva will make me fat.

Obviously these three and a half (four ish?) months are filled with them. Good ones, bad ones. Embarrassing ones, out-of-body ones. Experiences I’ll only have here.

Every morning when I open my eyes, the first thing I see is the Empire State building, and every morning I sit up after the realization sets in once more about where I am.

Today is my day off from work and I’m sitting in a fabulous little coffee shop called Sweetleaf about two stops away from where I live. I’m going to do my best to recount some of the best experiences I’ve had these past two weeks…(neglected posting last week…it was BUSY…I won’t ever let it happen again). Continue reading

We live here? WE LIVE HERE!

Waiting in line to see Fallon.

It’s Sunday! Are you excited for my lengthy post about all the amazing things I’ve been up to? I am!

So since my last post I have worked a full week (well…full week to me means Monday through Thursday) at my internship, seen famous people, eaten my weight in NY food, gotten on the wrong trains and gotten off at the wrong train stops, and have finally started to believe what’s happening IS in fact, truly happening. But before I get to the fun stuff, first things first! WORK.

At Last…

The View

Aaaaaaaand cue music. (Something New Yorky like Empire State of Mind or New York, New York.)

I have arrived! Finally. I started this blog in MARCH. Can’t believe it.

I’ve decided Sunday will be my designated blogging day so if you’re DYING to know what trouble I’m getting into these next four months or so, you’ll know where to find me…

Getting Sentimental…

According to the countdown on my iPhone, there are only 65 days, 13 hours, 29 minutes and 3 seconds left until I move to New York.

Things have been extremely hectic. With end of the semester projects, presentations, last round of tests before finals, AND applying for internships/setting up interviews, my life has been a blur… Continue reading

Time Goes By In The Blink Of An Eye…

Fall Is Here

It’s October.

I start applying for internships this month! I can’t believe how much time has already passed. It seems like just yesterday I was dancing around my room after I found out I was actually going to New York.

I’ve thought about blogging often, but I never had much to blog. Although there WAS a scare at the beginning of August… Continue reading

Planning Ahead…

May 2012

Well, I didn’t expect to be blogging again so soon, but I had advisement yesterday and a lot of what my adviser and I talked about was NY. I must admit, after I found out about my acceptance into the program, I was living in euphoric bliss. But after it died down a bit, I started to worry about if I was going to be able to fulfill all my requirements in the fall before leaving. After all, while in NY I’m only taking two classes. Would I graduate on time? Continue reading

Only 289 Days To Go…

Here I Come

I found out about the Baylor in New York program when I was a freshman. The moment I heard about it, I went back to my dorm and looked up the program online. I downloaded the application to my desktop, read over it, and there it sat for the next two years until I would finally apply. Continue reading
